The natural reserve of ‘Vendicari’ stretches for about 1.500-hectares and it’s certainly one of the most beautiful wet-zones in Europe. Favourite destination for hundreds of species of birds , among which flamingos, herons, storks, spoon-bills, buzzards, hawks and many others. The remainder of flora and fauna are very rich too, with their typical colours of Mediterranean bush. Lynch-pin and heart of the ecosystem of Vendicari are certainly the wonderful swamps, where the intensity of oasis’s life gets its height.
